Silicate Polishing involves a combination of Epoxy, Silicate compound and Sealer to give your luxurious marble floors complete shine and stain protection. We use Akemi Stone Sil 200 and Stone Sil 800 silicate liquid compound to polish expensive and exquisite marble floors as Silicate penetrates the surface efficiently and forms a top layer that repels stains and makes the shine last 3-4 times longer. Also, it is combined with epoxy treatment that helps treat pin holes and hair line cracks. It is followed by Sealing the surface with Akemi Nano Sealer Repellent for 100% stain and spill prevention from water, oil and grease.

What is Silicate Marble Polishing?

Complete Marble Silicate Polishing service involves levelling the floor using iron grits which help in cutting major lippage and removes top layer completely. Cracks and grouts are filled using colour-based crack filler. Then 100 no diamond pad is used followed by Epoxy solution that settle in hairline cracks and pin holes. After 200 diamond pads, we apply Stone Sil 200 Silicate solution and letting it dry. Then we hone with 400 and 800 no diamond pad after which we apply Stone Sil 800. After the 800 Silicate is dried, we hone the floor with 100, 1500 and 3000 to refine the floor for powder polishing and sealing. Once the floor has been polished, we will apply multiple coats of Nano sealer depending on the stone’s porosity. Once the sealer cannot be absorbed further, we let it dry after which we finally buff the floor to mirror finish!

Once we have completely restored your marble floor with Epoxy resin system, the floor will return to its natural state with all cracks and pored filled and can last you for years. We use high quality Italian Akemi products which make rigid bonding with the surface. They also dry quickly and offer good consistency in terms of application.

There are two types of fillers – epoxy based and polyester based and both are used depending on the site. Polyester based filler is used for quick setting repairs and mostly used whereas epoxy based fillers are suited for durable, structural repairs.

Yes, with DustBusters diamond polishing, 99% of the stains of Harpric, acid, tea, coffee, wooden polish, oil etc. will be removed through grinding of the floor.

For epoxy we use Akepox 1005 which comes in two parts – epoxy resin for bonding and hardener to strengthen the bond with the marble floor. For repairing we use polyester based made-in-Italy Akemi Fillers which are recommended for Italian marble floors and are suitable for all kinds of natural stone, Granite, Terrazzo, Limestone and even wooden. For polishing, we use Partek Starr made-in-Italy powder polish to provide the overall gloss. Along with that, we use Diversey Terranova Liquid Crystallizer chemical which is a marble floor shiner. The chemical does not damage the delicate marble surface and combined with high speed mechanical process of Partek Sumo machine, the overall shine improves and appears cleaner.

Absolutely not. Our team of experts will ensure that no mess is created in the process of floor polishing. The floor is cleaned first and all the dirty water is removed using a vacuum cleaner. Then Terranova spray is put on the surface and buffed to finish with high shine.

Floor Polishing is most suited for Indian and Italian marble floor as they have high shine properties but it can also be applicable to other stone floors like granite and kota floors.

DustBuster Marble Silicate Treatment Process

1.

Vacuum any dry dust or loose debris off the floor and Scrub the floor clean.

2.

Grind the floor evenly using iron rigid grits followed by 60 no. flexible diamond pad. Fill the cracks with Filling compound and let it dry.

3.

Honing of the floor with 100 no. diamond pad followed by application of Akepox Epoxy resin liquid. Let it dry for 24 hours.

4.

Honing of the floor with 200 no. diamond pad and apply Stone Sil 200 Nano Lithium Silicate solution and let it dry.

5.

Honing of the floor with 400 and 800 no. diamond pads and apply Stone Sil 800 Nano Lithium Silicate and let it dry.

6.

Honing of the floor with pads 1500 and 3000. to ensure that the surface is completely smooth for polishing process.

7.

Apply the Italian powder polish Partek Starr on the floor with water and floor pad till the polish is completely absorbed.

8.

Apply multiple coats of Nano Sealer as per the marble porosity till marble stops absorbing the Sealant. Let it dry.

9.

Buff the floor using steel wool floor pad attached to the scrubbing machine and liquid gloss enhancer. Wipe off the floor with a clean cloth.
