We offer Epoxy resin for floors with small holes, deep and thin fissures and cracks. We use Akepox 1005 Epoxy which is transparent in color and is used where fillers can’t be applied i.e. hairline cracks and small pits. Due to its highly penetrative properties, it fills the gap easily and forms a durable bond to improve structural issues. Epoxy is suitable for light natural stones and offers excellent weather resistant effects. After the epoxy dries, we polish the floor to achieve Mirror Finish.

What is Epoxy Marble Polishing?

For our service, we use Akemi Akepox 1005 which includes a resin chemical and a hardener. Both the components are mixed in a ratio and then applied on the hairline cracks and open pores. Epoxy helps in strengthening a brittle marble floor prone to cracking due to weight or moisture. Post epoxy the floor gets new life as it reinforces the stone, increasing the life span and helps avoid changing the marble. This service also helps in make the floor weather and moisture resistant while retaining high gloss properties.

There are two types of fillers – epoxy based and polyester based and both are used depending on the site. Polyester based filler is used for quick setting repairs and mostly used whereas epoxy based fillers are suited for durable, structural repairs.

Yes, with DustBusters diamond polishing, 99% of the stains of Harpric, acid, tea, coffee, wooden polish, oil etc. will be removed through grinding of the floor.

For epoxy we use Akepox 1005 which comes in two parts – epoxy resin for bonding and hardener to strengthen the bond with the marble floor. For repairing we use polyester based made-in-Italy Akemi Fillers which are recommended for Italian marble floors and are suitable for all kinds of natural stone, Granite, Terrazzo, Limestone and even wooden. For polishing, we use Partek Starr made-in-Italy powder polish to provide the overall gloss. Along with that, we use Diversey Terranova Liquid Crystallizer chemical which is a marble floor shiner. The chemical does not damage the delicate marble surface and combined with high speed mechanical process of Partek Sumo machine, the overall shine improves and appears cleaner.

DustBusters Marble Floor Polishing with Epoxy Process

1.

Vacuum any dry dust or loose debris off the floor and scrub the floor completely with Partek P2 Neutral floor cleaner.

2.

Grind the floor evenly to remove deep scratches and stains and fix levelling of slab with Diamond pad nos 50, 100, and 200.

3.

Apply Akepox Epoxy liquid on the floor with Hardener and let it sit for 16-24 hours to dry.

4.

Grind the floor again with Diamond pad nos 100, 200 and 400.

5.

Hone the floor with Diamond pad Nos. 800 and 1500 to smoothen the surface and prepare for polish.

6.

Apply the Italian powder polish Partek Starr on the floor with water and floor pad till the polish is completely absorbed. This is followed by Buffing with Liquid Crystalliser fo high gloss finish.
